PKT Properties, originally founded as the Fraternity's entity that purchased and leased real estate for fraternity houses, has evolved its services to become an educational arm of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity.
P.K.T. National Properties, Inc. was founded in 1955 as Phi Kappa Real Estate Holding Corporation. In the past it has often purchased or leased real estate for use as fraternity houses, and helped Chapters by owning, maintaining, and improving them.
Since 1971, Properties has attempted to see that an alumni corporation within the same city owns real estate for chapter use. Therefore, chapters have been aided by Properties through their alumni corporation, by co-signing notes, making loans for down payments on houses and other related housing problems.
PKT Properties has developed a number of training programs designed to educate our members in the areas of prevention and crisis management. These training programs are offered at no charge to Phi Kappa Theta's collegiate chapters and include CPR and First Aid training, Fire Safety, Alcohol Education, and Securing Physical Structures for Safety and Crime Prevention. Please go here for a complete list of PKT Properties' new services provided to its members.
For any chapter wishing to bring PKT Properties to their campus for training, please contact PKT Properties President, Joe Przybyla.
In an attempt to meet the needs of our housing corporations and, indirectly, our undergraduate chapters, PKT Properties offers the following services to all dues paying boards:
- Assistance with the formation of Alumni Housing Corporations.
- Access to real estate, banking, legal, Certified Public Accountant, and consulting expertise.
- Assistance with property insurance quotes and policy comparisons to ensure the lowest premiums with the greatest coverage.
- Assistance with property management issues.
- Assistance with loan brokering and lease negotiations.
- Benefits of our national partnership with SimplexGrinnell for fire safety and sprinkler system quotes/installation/monitoring.
- Budgeting 101 booklet, which outlines the most common type of budget and provides examples. Excel budget, cash flow and revenue spreadsheets are provided electronically.
- Effective fundraising/Capital Campaign manual.
- Assistance with the formation of Alumni Housing Corporations.
PKT Properties continues to enhance its service offerings to benefit our alumni and undergraduate chapters. The annual $150.00 fee is used to support these programs and insurance coverage for our dues paying members.
