Biennial Convention

The supreme authority of Phi Kappa Theta resides in its Biennial Convention at which the voting members of the Fraternity set long-range policy for the Fraternity. Only future Conventions may overturn decisions voted on in previous Conventions.

Board of Trustees

The National Convention elects the Board of Trustees, consisting of both alumni and collegiateuate members, to run the Fraternity between Conventions. The Board, in turn, must make a complete report to the International Convention. The International Convention can overrule any decision made by the Board, since it is an interim authority. The Board may elect certain members to an Executive Committee and give them the powers of the Board when the Board is not in session. The Board elects the officers of the Fraternity, and it also engages an Executive Vice President. The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the Fraternity who directs the overall work of the Fraternity, but he does it through the Executive Vice President, who is a full-time professional Fraternity man. All trustees volunteer their time and service and receive no financial compensation except for expenses.

Executive Offices/Professional Staff

It is the responsibility of the Executive Vice President to seek out those especially qualified young brothers to serve as Chapter Consultants. The Executive Vice President is in charge of the operation of the Executive Offices in Indianapolis; he also supervises the Province Presidents. Through these brothers, he maintains contact with the District Governors and the chapters. The Executive Vice President is accountable to the President, and both are accountable to the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees. The staff handles the day-to-day operations of the Fraternity.

Province Presidents

It is the responsibility of the Province Presidents to oversee the District Governors and maintain contact with the chapters. The Province President is also responsible for aiding in organizing province events such as the annual province leadership conferences. The Province Presidents act as project managers and assist chapters when necessary.

District Governors

The chapters of the Fraternity are divided into districts. A District Governor is appointed for each district. The District Governor makes monthly visits to the chapter and reports to the Province President and Executive Offices. The District Governor is concerned with the day-to-day operations of his chapters.
